Reports out of Europe this week have indicated Jack Miller’s anticipated switch to Pramac Ducati for 2018 is all but official, poised to depart Marc VDS and Honda at the end of this season.

Miller has been linked to Ducati’s primary satellite team for much of the silly season, as his elusive three-year Honda Racing Corporation (HRC) contract will conclude when this year is complete.

It’s understood that 22-year-old Miller had been close to remaining at Marc VDS for another season in an agreement direct with the team, however latest reports suggest his Pramac Ducati deal has been finalised to join Danilo Petrucci on a 2017 specification Desmosedici. He’s played down speculation this week.

“The contract stuff that everyone seems to be talking about or has an opinion about,” Miller wrote in his post-Sachsenring Red Bull column. “Some of it is close to being right, some of it is so far away from the truth that it’s ridiculous. The truth is that I’m close to being able to say what I’m doing next year but can’t confirm it yet, but it’ll be soon, I hope.

“And until you hear it from me or something official comes out, then it’s not true! We all want to get it locked away as soon as we can, believe me, but you have to work through the process and it’ll be make sense why soon hopefully – then people can stop asking me and hassle someone else!”

If Miller has in fact signed for Pramac Ducati, it’s tipped that Scott Redding – the rider he would be replacing – will return to Marc VDS from 2018. Redding is still currently managed by Marc VDS team principal Michael Bartholemy.
