Superbike predictions
First:
Wayne Maxwell – For the first time this season we’re tipping Wayne Maxwell for the win, considering his phenomenal form at Winton last time out for the double. With a proven package and experience on his side, Maxwell should have what it takes to go back-to-back this weekend.
Second:
Josh Waters – There’s something about Josh Waters and Hidden Valley that makes him super-competitive and, as a result, we’re tipping he will have a breakthrough round with Team Suzuki Ecstar. Now equipped with the R model (which is near identical in ASBK trim aside from the forks), if the multi-time champion is to make an impact it will be in Darwin.
Third:
Troy Herfoss – First time out with the brand new CBR1000RR SP2, there’s a lot to learn for Crankt Protein Honda Racing this weekend, but the team has what it takes to fast-track the early stages of development. It’s a bit of an unknown at this point and it could go either way, but a podium on debut would be a good result.
Watch for:
Daniel Falzon, Cru Halliday, Robbie Bugden, Glenn Allerton, Bryan Staring
