Spaniard re-signs with Ducati-backed team for next year.
Pull & Bear Aspar Team has revealed Alvaro Bautista will remain with the outfit for the 2018 MotoGP World Championship following a recent announcement.
Bautista, who won the 2006 125cc World Championship with the team, is excited to spend another year with the satellite squad after scoring several pleasing finishes aboard its Ducati GP16 in the opening half of the 2017 championship.
“I am happy to be spending another season as part of the Pull & Bear Aspar Team family,” said Bautista. “It is a union that can help both the team and myself to grow. We are having a strong season, I have a good relationship with the team and I feel very comfortable on the Ducati and with the support from the factory, I think we can continue to improve and achieve good results.”
Team manager Jorge Martinez is equally as pleased to re-sign the Spaniard, declaring his faith in him and the Ducati premier class machine.
“It is good news for the Pull & Bear Aspar Team that we have reached this agreement with Alvaro Bautista,” Martinez commented. “We believe in him and we are enjoying a very strong season. We also have a lot of faith in Ducati, we get great support from the factory and through extending this relationship, together we can improve even more.”
Bautista currently sits 11th in the championship standings, with the prestigious MotoGP series scheduled to return from the European summer break on 6 August, in the Czech Republic.
