Australian yet to finalise Ducati contract despite reports.
North Queenslander Jack Miller says he is yet to sign a contract for the 2018 MotoGP World Championship, despite recent reports that an agreement has been reached with Pramac Racing to ride a Ducati.
Home for the European summer break and in between his Suzuka 8 Hours commitments, Miller is in the final stages of completing a deal that will see him contest a fourth-straight season in the premier class.
“Nothing’s been signed at this point in time,” Miller told Fox Sports Australia this week. “We’re just weighing up our options and trying to find the most competitive bike for me for next year – the good thing is we’ve got options.
“I’m not too stressed [about money]. Of course, I need to get paid to ride a motorcycle — it is my job! — but I’m not out to get stupidly rich riding a bad bike. We’re just trying to find the best package in general for next year.”
Miller has been impressive during testing aboard the factory MuSASHi RT HARC-PRO Honda CBR1000RR at Suzuka this month, second overall alongside Japanese teammates Takaaki Nakagami and Takumi Takasashi, now setting his sights on victory in the 8 Hours upon debut on 28-30 July.
The Australian character, who broke through for a first MotoGP win in the wet at Assen last year, has enjoyed a strong third term of his Honda Racing Corporation (HRC) contract to date in 2017, however ongoing reports suggest he will depart Marc VDS at the conclusion of this season in favour of a satellite deal at Ducati with close links to the Italian factory.
