A ninth-place finish for MotoMap Supply Suzuki in the 2017 Suzuka 8 Hours was enough to satisfy Australian Superbike front-runner Josh Waters on Sunday.

Featuring one of the most star-studded line-ups in years, Waters and teammates Nobuatsu Aoki and Yosihiro Konno managed to meet their target of a top 10 result.

Waters experienced vast improvements during the morning warm-up that enabled him to press on in the ever-gruelling Japanese affair, putting in 100 percent during his stints on the privately-entered GSX-R1000.

“I made a big change to the set-up with this morning’s warm-up run and it was great,” Waters reflected. “I went in a good direction and I was able to run comfortably in the final. This race in Japan is always the best and I really enjoyed it.”

Coming off victory last time out at Hidden Valley, Waters will now revert his attention to Team Suzuki Ecstar for round five of the Australian Superbike Championship in Queensland on 25-27 August.
