Australian Jason O’Halloran says he isn’t complacent heading into Thruxton this weekend as he sits fourth in the MCE British Superbike Championship (BSB).

The Honda Racing rider is 26 points shy of the top three with a host of riders within striking distance behind him, which the number 22 acknowledges, stating consistency will be key in maintaining his position.

“I am sitting in quite a good position at the moment in the championship standings in fourth place,” said O’Halloran. “But you can’t be too complacent about this and I know there are a few of the guys who will be fighting this weekend to make their way into the top six. So we just need to continue with our consistency and keep the points up.

The Aussie revealed he favours the Thruxton circuit following previous success at venue, leaving him significantly eager to hit the track there this weekend.

“Thruxton is a super-fast circuit and I really can’t wait to get going,” he continued. “I love riding the Superbike there and loved the circuit back in my Superstock and Supersport days.

“I scored a podium there last year and the track suited the old Fireblade, so I am looking forward to seeing what we can do with the new CBR.”

Thruxton’s round of the BSB series marks the seventh stop on the calendar, with five rounds still to be run following this weekend’s edition.
