Verdict:
It was a stellar weekend for Yamaha Racing Team’s Wayne Maxwell, who walked away from the Morgan Park venue with the points lead in hand following an excellent 1-2 scorecard. Yamaha-backed privateer Cru Halliday was fast all weekend, claiming pole and controlling much of race one until a mistake saw drop a number of positions, but he was able to bounce back in race two to take the win. Third was credited to Team Suzuki Ecstar’s Josh Waters, who was ultra-consistent all weekend long to edge out DesmoSport Ducati newcomer Corey Turner for the final spot on the podium. Turner was second in race one, although crashed while challenging Waters for fourth in the second outing, remounting for eighth. Glenn Allerton (Yamaha Racing Team) made a welcomed return to the top five, rounding out the weekend in a credible fifth.
