Australian Jack Miller fell just short of points in a frustrating British grand prix on Sunday, claiming 16th after struggling for rear grip off the turns.

The Team Estrella Galicia 0,0 Marc VDS Honda rider indicated the warmer weather on race day may have impacted his settings in what was a difficult affair.

“In the race I struggled to find rear drive grip and it is not easy to understand why,” Miller reflected. “Maybe it was because of the hotter track temperatures compared to practice and qualifying.

“It is a real shame and I’m very disappointed with this race. This should have been a great day to pick up some points and now we just have keep working to recover from this slump at the next race.”

Team Estrella Galicia 0,0 Marc VDS principal Michael Bartholemy was also puzzled as to why Miller was unable to match his pace from throughout practice and qualifying.

“For Jack the main issue was that he could not find any rear grip, so we need to see why his race pace didn’t match his pace in practice,” he said. “It would have been nice to have two riders in the points, but now we wait to see what the Misano race will deliver for us.”
