Ducati Team’s Jorge Lorenzo is convinced of putting in a strong performance and claiming a solid result this weekend at Misano’s 13th round of the 2017 MotoGP World Championship.

Lorenzo has experienced vast success at the San Marino venue in recent years, which the Spaniard is drawing upon ahead of the weekend, leaving him with an abundance of confidence.

The multi-time world champion has been on a positive climb since the prestigious series returned from the European summer break last month, which is something Lorenzo is endeavouring to continue.

“The aim at Misano will be to confirm the upswing we’ve shown in the last few races, where I’ve accumulated more experience and confidence with the bike,” Lorenzo commented. “The test we did here was very positive and will be useful in order to have a good starting base right from the first day.

“In addition, Misano is one of my favourite circuits – I’ve won here several times in MotoGP and I’m convinced we can get a good result. For sure the Ducati fans will give us an extra gear with their support from the grandstand.”

Lorenzo sits seventh in the championship standings as six stops remain on the 18-round global calendar, where he is yet to claim victory since making the switch to the Italian manufacturer.
