Movistar Yamaha’s Maverick Viñales has an added boost of motivation heading into the weekend’s 13th round of the 2017 MotoGP World Championship after returning to the podium at the previous round at Silverstone where he was runner-up to Andrea Dovizioso (Ducati Team).

The Spaniard revealed he is starting to regain the feeling with his Yamaha YZR-M1 MotoGP machine that saw him claim the opening two round wins of the season as the series begins to tighten up.

“We are very motivated after the podium at Silverstone,” Viñales commented. “We’re working in the right direction again. I’m starting to have the same feeling on my M1 that I had at the beginning of the season and that gives me a lot of calm and allows me to focus on continuing to get points in each race.

“It’s very positive that we were able to give a good performance in the test at the Misano track some weeks ago and we improved a lot of things on the setup, so I will try as always to give my 100 percent to bring a new victory to Yamaha.”

The factory Yamaha rider is positioned third in the standings, 13 points shy of current leader Dovizioso as he endeavours to climb back onto the top step of the podium.
