Kawasaki Puccetti Racing’s Kenan Sofuoglu will almost certainly miss the remainder of the 2017 World Supersport Championship after fracturing his hip at Magny-Cours.

The reigning world champion led the series into France, however injuries from a heavy high-side crash forced him out of the race on Sunday and title contention.

Sofuoglu was taken for medical checks at the circuit and was declared unfit. Later checks in hospital confirmed that he has three fractures to his hip and he is now flying home to Turkey to undergo surgery.
