Australian international Josh Brookes says three race victories at Brands Hatch is all he can do to claim the 2017 MCE British Superbike Championship (BSB), which is set to wrap up this weekend.

The Anvil Hire Yamaha rider currently sits second in the standings, 32 points behind series leader Leon Haslam (JG Speedlift Kawasaki). However, with the finale hosting a unique triple-header, the Aussie is still in with a chance as anything is a possibility.

“We can only focus on the job we can do and that is to go to Brands Hatch and try and win all three races,” said Brooked. “Any position this season is hard to achieve as it is so close but we need to bring the most energy, focus and determination to Brands Hatch and hope that we have that luck.

“I think looking ahead to the weekend we should all reflect on the battle between Tommy Hill and John Hopkins because I think the final round will be reminiscent of that. Whoever it is between at the end I think the racing is going to be brilliant and it certainly won’t let the fans down.”

A previous BSB champion with a number of race wins under his belt this season, Brookes understands that the title isn’t over until it’s over, and will endeavour to add another championship to his name despite the odds stacked being against him.
