Australian Anthony West will revert to the WorldSSP class this weekend at Spain’s penultimate round of the Motul FIM World Superbike Championship (WorldSBK) with the Kawasaki Puccetti Team, as 2014 WorldSBK champion Sylvain Guintoli well return to the premier class with the outfit for the season remainder.

West, who previously contested selected rounds of WorldSSP earlier this year, was signed to replace Randy Krummenacher for the final four rounds, although it was announced today that the Aussie will switch back to the smaller capacity class.

With Guintoli confirmed for the final two rounds, the team only made mention that West will contest WorldSSP for the sole weekend, leaving uncertainty over his position for the finale in Qatar.

The moves comes after five-times world champion Kenan Sofuoglu was sidelined with injury, forcing the team to draft in West and Axel Bassani in WorldSSP.

In West’s two appearance in the premier class, he recorded a number of respectable results, his best coming in Portugal’s second race where charged to an impressive eight position.
