MotoGP tyre supplier Michelin will remain the title sponsor of the Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix in 2018, to be staged between 26-28 October at the world-famous Victorian venue.

Australian Grand Prix Corporation CEO Andrew Westacott welcomed the continued support of Michelin for the Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix this year, which marks the third-consecutive year of their partnership.

“Michelin has been a valuable addition to the event over the last two years, and we are thrilled to see the continuation of an already strong relationship,” Westacott said. “We look forward to delivering an exciting spectacle of competitive racing at the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit, which has earned its reputation as being one of the most unique and breathtaking destinations on the international MotoGP calendar.”

Senior vice president business line two wheels worldwide Matthew Ye said Michelin is active in motorsport in order to take its technologies forward and provide its consumers with the very best products.

“A high number of Michelin hypersport tyre ranges benefit from the brand’s winning technologies,” Ye said. “Our association with MotoGP has helped us to build brand awareness in many key high-growth markets. Our continuing involvement with the Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix as title sponsor provides us with a first-class platform to address biking enthusiasts across the world.”
