The Yamaha Motor Finance Australian Superbike Championship (ASBK) presented by Motul Pirelli will be on-track at The Bend Motorsport Park in South Australia for an official test between 3-4 April.

Just weeks out from the ASBK and Asia Road Racing Championship double-header, the YMI Superbike, Kawasaki Supersport and Australian Supersport 300 classes will take part in the test.

“The official ASBK test will be the first time we’ll see Superbikes in anger at The Bend Motorsport Park, where benchmark lap-times will be set,” said Sam Shahin, managing director of The Bend Motorsport Park. “It is a great pre-cursor to the sensational double-header event from 19-22 April where the Asia Road Racing Championship joins the ASBK.”

South Australian local Daniel Falzon – who joins the factory Yamaha Racing Team for the 2018 season – is excited to hit the track at Tailem Bend as the series makes its anticipated return to his home state.

“I’m really looking forward to testing and competing at what will be my new home track at The Bend Motorsport Park,” Falzon commented. “The facilities are second to none in this country and I’ve even had the opportunity to check out the track in person. The professionalism of the track organisers and owners has been amazing and it’s clear that competitors and spectators alike are going to be impressed when the racing kicks off.”

The Bend Motorsport Park is a state of the art, world-class motorsport facility, which will see the ASBK championship race on the International configuration of the track at 4.95km in length.
