The Yamaha Motor Finance Australian Superbike Championship (ASBK) presented by Motul Pirelli will be live on television once again in 2018, free-to-air on SBS for two hours and on Fox Sports in an expanded live four-hour package.

Set for every standalone round of the season, the significant coverage sees Fox Sports now air the event live for the first time in its four-year association with the ASBK series. Live-streaming will also continue this year over eight hours per round.

“We are excited to announce both SBS and Fox Sports as live television broadcast partners for the 2018 season,” commented Motorcycling Australia (MA) CEO Peter Doyle. “ASBK has gone from strength-to-strength, as the popularity of the ASBK now shows. Over a long period, we have all worked hard together to shape the ASBK into the brand we all envisaged it could be.

“We have seen encouraging sponsorship commitments, plus incredible team support for the ASBK. The opportunity to showcase our strong talent pool by televising the ASBK via SBS, Fox Sports and livestream is sure to satisfy ASBK’s fans for plenty of racing action.”

It’s also been announced that Phillip Island’s opening round, contested alongside round one of the Motul Superbike World Championship (WorldSBK), will be televised on SBS this Sunday, 10 March, from 1:00pm in a two-hour program.

The extensive ASBK covered will be produced by AVE for a second-consecutive season, with the broadcast set to reach a global audience via coverage in Europe, the United Kingdom, United States and Asia according to MA’s announcement.
