Team Suzuki Ecstar Australia looking to improve at home circuit

Team Suzuki ECSTAR Australia press release:

The 2018 Australian Superbike Championship (ASBK) heads to Goulburn, NSW this weekend with racing underway for both Josh Waters & Markus Chiodo on Sunday aboard the Suzuki GSX-R1000 in what is essentially a home race for the Canberra based racing outfit.

It won’t be smooth sailing for the reigning champ or the rookie though, with a stacked field to contend with on a challenging Wakefield Park circuit.

“Wakefield Park is a tight & bumpy race track with plenty of hard braking area’s along with a critical final corner onto the straight meaning we have to be on point with a balanced bike set up to be up the front this weekend. After testing last week, I’m confident that we’re heading in the right direction and I’m looking forward to getting to the track again on Friday and picking up where we left off and hopefully be back on the podium on Sunday afternoon” an upbeat Josh Waters said.

For superbike rookie, Markus Chiodo Wakefield Park is one of the tougher tracks in the series for the 20 year old “my strengths are definitely on longer flowing race tracks, so the short, stop start style track here at Wakefield is one of the toughest for me, but I’m confident that I can continue to move forward. I can’t thank the team enough for the help and advice that I’m getting every time I jump on the bike” said Chiodo.

Team owner, Dale Brede: “Testing went well last week, the team continue to work well together and the riders keep taking strong steps forward” said Dale. “Markus is learning a lot from the entire team and I expect Josh to continue to prove why he is the reigning champion. Being so close to our home base in the ACT, as well as the series being so tight we really want to have a strong showing on Sunday and take home a decent points haul and I think we’re in a position to do that”.

With practice on Friday, qualifying Saturday and racing Sunday for Team Suzuki ECSTAR Australia, you’ll be able to watch all the action live on SBS & Fox Sports or alternatively head to www.asbk.com.au to catch the LIVE STREAM of the entire race day.

For those a little closer to the circuit you can also head to www.asbk.com.au for more information and tickets before heading out to Wakefield Park, Goulburn NSW on March 16-18.
