Lack of front tyre grip denies Australian of pushing for position.
Australian Jack Miller has drawn confidence from his top 10 finish on debut with Pramac Racing at the weekend’s opening round of the 2018 MotoGP World Championship in Qatar.
Miller, who started from P10 on the grid, held ninth for much of the 22-lap affair, however relinquished the position to Andrea Iannone (Team Suzuki Ecstar) in the closing stages.
The Queensland native admitted he started to lose feeling in the front tyre towards the end of the race, denying him of being able to push for position.
“It was a good race but in the end I couldn’t push as I wanted because I started to have lack of feeling with the front tyre especially in the right turns,” said Miller. “I am still happy to have taken this top 10 and with what we have done this weekend. I feel that we are doing a great job with the team and this gives me a lot of confidence for the next race in Argentina.”
The Ducati rider is optimistic heading into the next stop of the championship, set for 8 April in Argentina.
