Dunlop continues ASBK challenge at Wakefield Park

Dunlop Tyres Australia press release:

Leading Dunlop-eqipped racer Bryan Staring continued his strong run of form in Goulburn’s second round of the 2018 Australian Superbike Championship (ASBK) last weekend, scoring fifth position in race one.

Coming off of a victory in round one at Phillip Island, the Kawasaki BCperformance rider qualified sixth with a 58.347s lap-time around the tight and technical 2.2-kilometre New South Wales circuit.

High temperatures and blustery conditions made for an eventful Sunday, however Staring managed to claim fifth in the first 20-lap encounter. He was on track for another consistent finish in race two when an error at turn two while circulating in sixth forced him out of the race.

Staring is now sixth in the championship standings two rounds in, while Kawasaki BCperformance teammate Kyle Buckley put forward an improved performance to capture 12-10 results for 10th overall. That result sees him climb to 13th in the standings.

Leading Dunlop-supported Supersport contender was BCperformance Junior Team rider Giuseppe Scarcella, charging to sixth position in race one and the fifth in the second, which now sees him sit fifth in the championship with that result.

The 2018 Australian Superbike Championship (ASBK) will now head to The Bend Motorsport Park in South Australia on 19-22 April for round three of seven on the national calendar.
