Honda Racing ace disappointed in opening BSB affair last weekend.
Australian Jason O’Halloran has expressed his dissatisfaction in two top 10 finishes at the weekend’s opening round of the Bennetts British Superbike Championshp (BSB), hosted by Donington Park.
The Honda Racing rider lodged a 7-9 scorecard to kickstart his 2018 campaign, although his results sheet wouldn’t reflect his expectations, ultimately leaving him disappointed at the conclusion of the weekend’s racing.
“I managed to get into fourth and could see the guys in front weren’t that far away and then I started to have a good battle with Dan,” O’Halloran explained. “We swapped places a few times at the end of the race and I was pushing for fourth, but unfortunately on the last lap my gear lever broke and I ended up crossing the line in seventh.
“I am disappointed to not finish fourth, but that’s racing sometimes and you have to take the highs with the lows, and the lows with the highs. After the [second] race I’m a little disappointed with ninth place if I’m honest – I struggled a little within the group and getting out of corners, which was frustrating.
“We have a bit of a way to come when we’re faced with dodgy conditions and we do have some work to do to get a better feeling with the CBR – in the dry we showed we do have good pace and hopefully the next few weeks the weather will start to dry up.”
The next stop of the British Superbike Championship is scheduled for 13-15 April at the highly-regarded Brands Hatch Indy circuit.
