Yamaha machinery holds down the top four following Thursday sessions.
Yamaha bLU cRU 300 Racing’s Hunter Ford went fastest on the opening day of Australian Supersport 300 Championship practice at The Bend Motorsport Park in South Australia, setting the pace across both sessions.
Ford lapped the 4.95-kilometre circuit with a fastest lap-time of 2m11.764s set in practice two, placing him 0.283s ahead of teammate Tom Bramich (Yamaha) and local talent Olly Simpson (Yamaha).
It was an all-Yamaha top four as Tayla Relph rode her YZF-R3 to P4 on the charts, the last rider within a second of Ford’s pace at the front. Completing the top five was Cube Racing-supported championship leader Oli Bayliss (Kawasaki).
The back-half of the top 10 was just as hard-fought, as Harry Khouri (Yamaha), Seth Crump (KTM), Locky Taylor (Yamaha), Ben Bramich (KTM) and Zac Levy (Yamaha) took those positions. Both Taylor and Levy are also contesting wildcard rides in the Asian championship this weekend.
