Yamaha Racing Team’s Cru Halliday dominated the opening day of Kawasaki Australian Supersport Championship practice at The Bend Motorsport Park in South Australia.

Halliday’s lap-time of 1m56.748s in the second session placed him over a full second clear of points-leader Tom Toparis (Cube Racing Kawasaki), with Broc Pearson (Yamaha) third.

While Halliday is focusing on his domestic duties, albeit going quicker than the Asian SuperSports 600cc category so far, both Toparis and Pearson are entered as wildcards in the international races this weekend. Fourth on the time-sheets was local John Hunt (Suzuki), from New Zealand’s Damon Rees (Honda).

It was Mladin Racing’s Max Croker (Suzuki) in position six, trailed by Zac Johnson (Yamaha), Giuseppe Scarcella (Kawasaki BCperformance), Scott Nicholson (Next Gen Motorsports Suzuki) – another Asian series wildcard – and Ty Lynch (Yamaha).
