Australian adds Superstock and Supersport entries to TT agenda.
British Superbike Championship front-runner Josh Brookes will have a packed schedule at the 2018 Isle of Man TT, announcing a deal with his McAMS Yamaha team to contest the Superstock and Supersport categories.
Brookes will ride with the factory Norton team in the Superbike ranks and Senior TT for the second-straight year, now confirmed also to be lining up aboard YZF-R1 and R6 machinery within his regular BSB squad.
“I’m obviously keen to ride as many classes as possible, to test myself on different machinery and just as importantly to continue to build up my island knowledge, which you can only do with extended track time,” Brookes explained.
“It took a while to come together, but I’m really happy to be riding a YZF-R6 and YZF-R1 in team colours – the Supersport bike especially has been really strong previously. Ideally we’ll get good weather during practice week and get used to these two very different bikes.”
The McAMS Yamaha team is no stranger to the TT, having taken four Supersport TT wins with Ian Hutchinson in the past. This year’s event will mark Brookes’ fourth start in the Isle of Man TT, previously contesting the 2013, 2014 and 2017 editions.
