Pata Yamaha Official WorldSBK Team has revealed it will enter three riders at this weekend’s sixth stop of the World Superbike Championship (WorldSBK) hosted by Donington Park in the United Kingdom.

The squad will draft in test rider and Endurance World Championship (EWC) champion Niccolò Canepa, who will race alongside team regulars Michael van der Mark and Alex Lowes.

“I’m really happy to race again in WorldSBK with the Pata Yamaha Team,” Canepa commented. “I’m the test rider of the team, and I’m really proud that have given me the opportunity to race. The target for the weekend will be to help the team with the development of the bike for the next races but I think that we can fight for a good result.

“Donington is a circuit that I really like and the atmosphere in England is always amazing! So I start the weekend with a great mood.”

The Italian last raced in WorldSBK two years ago at the Misano stop of the tour when he filled in for former Pata Yamaha rider Sylvain Guintoli, racing to an impressive 7-9 scorecard.
