DNF results in Pramac Racing rider ending top 10 finishing streak.
Australian Jack Miller says there’s a lesson to be learned from his fall on lap two at the weekend’s sixth round of the MotoGP World Championship in Mugello, Italy, which ultimately brought his top 10 finishing streak to an end.
Miller, who was sporting a special Lamborghini-inspired Pramac Racing livery alongside teammate Danilo Petrucci for the race, expressed his disappointment in the non-fish, declaring he felt competitive for a strong result at the high-speed circuit.
“I’m very disappointed,” Miller stated. “The feeling was always very positive throughout the weekend and I think we made the right choice with the medium rear tyre. I think I could have competed well but that didn’t happen this time. I have learned a lesson – it will be different in Barcelona.”
The Queensland-native believes bottoming of the forks resulted in the front-end washout that has since demoted him to ninth in the championship standings after previously being positioned in sixth.
The opening two laps proved to be chaotic in the 23-lap affair, Miller being one of five riders to fall in the opening stages of the grand prix.
