Australian MotoGP ace Jack Miller has confirmed he’ll remain aboard Ducati machinery in 2019 with Pramac Racing, revealing his contract is anticipated to be signed in the coming days.

Miller, who has had an incredible start to 2018 in his first year with the Pramac outfit, has expressed his excitement to be the number one rider, however acknowledges the additional pressure that will be placed on him.

“As was predicted, I’ll stay here,” Miller stated. “There’s a GP19 here, which is good, here and in Pramac. I think it’s good for us. I’m excited, especially to be, let’s say, the number one rider next year would be nice. The pressure is on when you’re the number one rider.

“It was planned, like we had an early option for this year, and as far as it stands at the minute, we haven’t signed the paperwork, but I’m assuming it should be signed today or tomorrow, just to say that we’re using the option, but nothing for 2020 onwards.”

The Queensland-native is under the impression he’ll be on the same deal as teammate Danilo Petrucci, who’s been promoted to the factory Ducati Team for 2019 in place of Jorge Lorenzo, where he’ll pilot a current-spec GP19 model next season.

“[It will be] the same support, I guess,” he continued, “We haven’t really got into it, but I’m assuming the same deal as Danilo is on. Which is, they are basically using him like a test rider for them. Which is good and bad, but I’m excited – I’ll take the challenge.”

Miller sits ninth in the championship standings as round seven of the series looms this weekend at Catalunya in Spain.
