Fresh from his maiden WorldSBK victory at Brno, Pata Yamaha Official WorldSBK Team’s ALex Lowes is welcoming the challenge that presents itself this weekend at Laguna Seca’s eighth round in the United States of America.

The British ace is hopeful of maintaining the surge of momentum he’s built over the previous rounds, expressing his excitement to contend for the podium at the unique and challenging circuit.

“Coming off my first WorldSBK victory, I can’t wait to get to work and keep the momentum going at Laguna,” Lowes explained. “It’s a fantastic circuit and place to come and race. The famous corkscrew section is lots of fun – the TV really doesn’t do the gradient justice.

“In general, it’s a tricky track and hard to get a good setting but lately, we have been working better and better as a team and it just makes me so excited to get there and keep on working.”

Lowes is ranked sixth in the World Superbike Championship, just three points behind fifth’s Marco Melandri (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati).
