Team Suzuki Ecstar’s Josh Waters is banking on his victorious history at Darwin’s Hidden Valley circuit to turnaround his Yamaha Motor Finance Australian Superbike Championship (ASBK) campaign this weekend when the series hits the Top End.

Waters has dominated proceedings at his last two appearance at Hidden Valley, with his 2017 victory ultimately marking the turning point in his run home to the premier class title.

The number one’s season so far sees him ranked fourth in the standings as he’s yet to record an overall victory following the first three stops of the seven round series.

“It’s been a long break in the championship,” said Waters. “I’m looking forward to getting back on the bike – Darwin was good to me last year, taking both race wins, and I know the team has been working hard to give me an even stronger package this weekend, so I’m excited to get back on track.”

The Victorian’s best result in 2018 came at Phillip Island’s season-opener, where he was credited second after falling one point shy of the top spot. Following Darwin’s fourth round of ASBK, Waters will head to Japan for the prestigious Suzuki 8 Hours event, where he’ll contest the Superstock category with the MotoMap Supply Suzuki team.
