Dunlop continues to impress at Darwin ASBK

Dunlop Tyres Australia press release:

BC Performance Superbike racer Bryan Staring continues to impress on the Dunlop-equipped Kawasaki ZX10-R after racing to third and second places at the weekends fourth round of the Australian Superbike Championship (ASBK) held at Darwin’s Hidden Valley race circuit.

Qualifying third fastest with a blistering 1:06.088, set in the first of the two Saturday qualifying sessions, Staring set the tone for a strong weekend, ultimately securing third overall for the round.

Bryan Staring: “Overall, I scored a third and a second, so that’s a pretty good weekend. The rear tyre was new this weekend and our consistency over the sessions showed that’s what we needed and showed we could be strong, so we look forward to the next one now.”

Dunlop Brand Manager, Darren Jones: “We were excited coming into the Hidden Valley round. We offered a new rear Dunlop Sportmaxx tyre to ASBK competitors that not only offered strong grip, but a level of consistency that would allow the racers to push for the entire 18 laps in the NT heat. It was great to see Bryan reeling off consistently fast laps all within 0.5 of each other, including the fastest lap of race 1”

Dunlop racer Kyle Buckley continues to improve in just his second superbike season, coming in 10th overall to equal his best result this season in the highly competitive category, despite being pushed off track and falling to the back of the field in race 2. Supersport competitor Giuseppe Scarcella had an uncharacteristic crash in the second race although retains his sixth place in the championship.

The ASBK now takes a six-week break before heading to Queensland’s Morgan Park Raceway for the fifth installment of the seven-round championship.

Dunlop motorcycle tyres are proudly distributed throughout mainland Australia by Ficeda Accessories. Tasmania retailers should direct enquiries to Fulton Enterprises.
