Australian Supersport front-runner Tom Toparis will benefit from having Cube Racing owner Ben Henry in his corner when he lines up in his second-career World Supersport 300 Championship (WorldSSP300) race at Misano.

Toparis, 18, will remain with the Motoport Kawasaki team on-board a Ninja 400 in the hotly-contested WorldSSP300 category after finishing in 19th position on debut at Brno last month.

Former national racer Henry, who is also co-owner of the DesmoSport Ducati team alongside Troy Bayliss, has been instrumental in the road racing career of Toparis. His knowledge will be certain to boost the Goulburn talent’s chances of a strong result this weekend.

“I think the bike will be a lot more how I like it this weekend considering last time out was the first time I’d ridden it,” Toparis told CycleOnline.com.au. “I’ve had about an hour and a half on it now, to get it to a point that I like. Misano is a new track for me obviously, so I just want to get out there and try to do a good job.

“Having Ben there will be good. Last time out at Brno, I was messaging him flat out, but I think having him with me this time will be a lot easier for me having worked with him for my whole road racing career. He’s pretty much taught me everything that I know, so it will definitely be good to have his help and see what we can come up with.”

Toparis finished third in last weekend’s Darwin round of the Australian Supersport Championship aboard his Ninja ZX-6R, currently second in the point-standings following four rounds. He continues to gain international experience, racing in Moto3, World Supersport, Asian Supersport 600 and WorldSSP300 since last October.
