Kawasaki BCperformance’s Bryan Staring will be a surprise starter in this weekend’s Brands Hatch round of the 2018 British Superstock 1000 Championship after clinching a deal with Team WD-40 Kawasaki.

It will be the second time Staring, 31, has been called into the GR Motorsport-operated team, previously riding at the Brands Hatch BSB round in 2014. This time he will replace Alastair Seeley in the STK1000 ranks.

Staring’s return to Europe comes for the first time since he returned to the Australian Superbike Championship (ASBK) in 2017. He currently sits sixth in this year’s standings aboard the Dunlop-equipped ZX-10R, coming off of a third-place finish at Hidden Valley earlier this month.
