Australian BSB contender hopeful of completing the sixth round.
Jason O’Halloran says he will assess the situation of his ankle injury during Friday practice at this weekend’s sixth round of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship (BSB) hosted by Brands Hatch.
The Australian contender failed to make it through the previous round at Knockhill, completing just the first race before calling an end to his weekend.
The Honda Racing rider is remaining optimistic ahead of the sixth round, and is adamant he can charge through the three days of riding.
“I am still carrying my ankle injury, so Friday will be assessing the situation and seeing what strength and movement I have on the bike,” O’Halloran explained. “At Knockhill I wasn’t able to complete the two races, so the aim for this weekend is to finish both races and get a good points haul.
“I felt good on the Friday and Saturday at Knockhill, but my body just wasn’t strong enough come Sunday. But we’ve had two weeks and I’ve been continuing the rehab and therapy, and last weekend I was at Goodwood with Honda, so did a lot of walking around the site and that’s helped with getting the leg strong again.
“I can’t wait to be back up the front again and I really hope we can do that this weekend, get some strong finishes and collect some more points towards our championship tally.”
Multiple non-finishes for O’Halloran place him 10th in the championship standings as the series reaches the halfway mark.
