Lorenzo beaming with confidence, Dovizioso reserved on competitiveness.
This weekend’s return of the MotoGP World Championship at Brno in the Czech Republic has drawn mixed opinions from Ducati Team duo Jorge Lorenzo and Andrea Dovzioso.
Lorenzo is beaming with confidence ahead of the 10th grand prix of the year, expressing his significant liking of the circuit and expectation to immediately be competitive at the 5.4-kilometre venue.
“This is one of the circuits where I feel most at home and I’m sure that here we’ll be a lot stronger than what we were at Assen and Sachsenring,” Loronzo stated. “Brno is the ideal circuit to start the second half of the season and I think we will be competitive right from the very first day. I can’t wait to get out on track, and I’m sure we are going to have a great time.”
While still speaking positively about the weekend’s race, Italian ace Dovizioso appears to be somewhat reserved in his thoughts regarding competitiveness in Sunday’s 21-lap encounter.
“Brno is one of the most beautiful and most difficult circuits on the MotoGP calendar, but it has a lot of fascination,” says Dovizioso. “We are still missing something in the management of the tyres during the race, but I expect us to be competitive and fight for the victory at every circuit from Brno onwards.”
Dovizioso and Lorenzo sit fourth and fifth respectively in the championship standings as just three points separate them.
