Excessive front tyre temperature in yesterday’s 28-lap MotoGP affair at the Red Bull Ring denied Jack Miller the chance to challenge for a top 10 placing.

Starting from P16, the Pramac Racing ace negotiated his way into 12th during the opening stages, however with increasing heat in his front tyre, he was unable to retain the position and ultimately dropped back to 18th position at the conclusion of the outing.

“It’s a shame because the first part of the race was very good,” Miller stated. “I was pushing hard then the front wheel temperature rose too high and I was unable to keep the pace. It was a very difficult weekend – I can’t wait to be in Silverstone.”

The result marks a continuation of challenging grand prix for the Australian in recent rounds after starting the season with five-consecutive results within the top 10. Miller now sits 12th in the championship standings.
