Australian British Superbike Championship (BSB) contender Josh Brookes says Cadwell Park is a completely different circuit on the calendar, which is set to host round eight this weekend.

Brookes breaks down the track into two, highlighting the need for an adequate set-up on either half of the 3.5-kilometre venue to be in contention for victory.

The circuit also features the notorious ‘Mountain’ jump that Brookes along with the field famously launch over lap after lap, an aspect that comes natural to the McAms Yamaha rider.

“Cadwell Park is of course a completely different sort of circuit where bike set-up is crucial, certain bikes have favourable characteristics for the two halves of the track and you need a good set-up to handle the whole layout,” Brookes explained.

“I get quite a bit of attention for jumping the Mountain but that’s how I’ve always done it, perhaps it comes naturally to me with my motocross background. I guess it can be quite an intimidating part of the track to get wrong, so maybe some riders ride it in more of a conventional way.”

A recent surge in form sees the former British Superbike champion sit third in series rankings as just two rounds remain before the Showdown begins.
