Australian lodges 10-DNF scorecard in the eight round of British Superbikes.
Josh Brookes’ surge in form in the 2018 Bennetts British Superbike Championship has taken a hit at Cadwell Park’s eighth round of the series following a disastrous weekend.
The McAms Yamaha struggled to find an adequate feeling with his YFZ-R1, qualifying in P9 before finishing the opening encounter in 10th position.
A number of positive changes were made between outings, allowing him to challenge within the top five during race two, however a mechanical failure saw him forced to pit, prematurely ending his weekend.
“This hasn’t been a great weekend,” Brookes expressed. “We’ve been playing catch up all the way through and we obviously should have been stronger in race one. After some changes in the break the bike felt more my own and we were turning in fast laps and battling hard but then disaster.”
The Australian’s 10-DNF scorecard has demoted him to fourth in the championship rankings after previously holding down third in the standings.
