GSR Kawasaki finds consistency at Morgan Park

Glenn Scott Racing press release:

Central Coast’s local talent Glenn Scott has made a promising impact on the race track for his second race of the season at round 5 of the ASBK Championship at Morgan Park, QLD with a consistent P11 finish in both race 1 and 2.

With windy conditions and an extremely challenging circuit which tested both Glenn and the bike, GSR Kawasaki were extremely happy to finish the weekend with a great result.

“Morgan Park Circuit was a new track for me. It has a tight twisty lay out with a lot of bumps, which makes set up of the bike important and also makes it very physically demanding for the rider. After having three days of testing at the circuit we went into the weekend feeling pretty confident”.

GSR Kawasaki managed to come away with P15 for qualifying with a 1.15.4 lap time, which was a good result, after they were struggling to break the 1.16 barrier during the practice sessions on Friday. Pole sitter Troy Herfoss did an amazing job in breaking the lap record with a 1.12.6 in Saturday’s qualifying.

After making a few rider adjustments on Saturday night and a few tweaks to the bike, Glenn rode an attacking and consistent race which enabled him to bring it home in 11th position for both race 1 and race 2.

“I was happy to fight my way to P11 in race 1. We fought hard with the group fighting for 9th position, but they just managed to pull away ever so slightly. We were able to set a personal best time for the weekend of 1.15.0 and rode that consistently through the race, which was a really positive step for the team. Race 2 showed we had great consistency setting the same lap time and finishing in P11 again. It was a great result however it highlighted some areas that we need to continue to improve on for the next round at Winton in just 3 weeks’ time”.

“A big thank you to Al Samuels and Adam Raffe for working tirelessly to give me the best bike possible. It certainly was a challenging circuit for GSR Kawasaki but we stuck at it and came away with a great result”.

“I also want to extend a big thank you to my amazing sponsors. I cannot thank you all enough for your overwhelming support – Kawasaki motors / Easy Mix Concrete / BJ Howes Metaland / Darby St Automotive / Singo’s Wholesale Meats / Veolia / Renault Australia / Parramatta Motor Group / Motul / SBS Brakes / Maverick Racing Development / Commercial Kitchens Direct / ThinkWater Peats Ridge”.

Round 6 of the ASBK Championship will continue at Winton Motor Raceway from 7th-9th September.
