Last weekend’s MotoGP cancellation at Silverstone has prompted the Bennetts British Superbike Championship (BSB) event next week to take place on the alternative national circuit.

As Silverstone continues its investigation, the BSB has opted to make a thoughtful decision to run the event on the differing layout for the first time, although the circuit has previously been utilised for national championship motorcycle racing.

The original timetable issued for this event is largely unchanged, however free practice session lengths will be extended and all race lap distances will be changed to reflect the shorter lap length.

The three BSB Championship races which will decide this year’s six title fighters will now each be held over 30 laps race distance, offering fans unprecedented track action.

Australian contenders Josh Brookes (McAms Yamaha) and Jason O’Halloran (Honda Racing) currently sit fourth and 10th in the championship standings as the ninth rounds looms on 7-9 September.
