Hunter Ford (Yamaha) has snatched victory in the Supersport 300 category at Winton’s sixth round of the Yamaha Motor Finance Australian Superbike Championship (ASBK) in Victoria this weekend.

The New South Welshman lodged a stellar 2-1-3 scorecard, granting him the top spot with a six-point advantage over runner-up Oli Bayliss (Cube Racing), who went 4-2-2 for the weekend.

The final spot on the podium was credited to points leader Tom Bramich (Yamaha), the youthful talent still holding a 37-point lead in the championship. He was followed by Max Stauffer, who captured victory in race one and three, a DNF in the second outing ultimately coming at significant cost, while Zac Levy (Yamaha) completed the first five.

Stauffer reigned supreme in the Yamaha R3 Cup with 1-1-3 race scores, beating home rivals Bramich and Locky Taylor (Yamaha). Ford came home in fourth and controls the category by six markers, while he was followed by Tayla Relph (Yamaha) to conclude the top five.

In the GP Juniors class, Joel Kelso (Yamaha) dominated proceedings with three commanding race wins to his name, allowing him to edge out Luke Power (Yamaha) and John Lytras (Yamaha) on the podium. Series leader Stauffer was fourth followed by Harrison Voight. The Australian Superbike Championship will now head to Phillip Island in Victoria on 12-14 October.
