Number 25 'disappointed about how things are going'.
Movistar Yamaha’s Maverick Viñales is somewhat deflated after an enduring grand prix at Aragon on Sunday that saw the Spaniard wind up in 10th position.
The Yamaha duo of Viñales and Valentino Rossi both struggled throughout the entire weekend, qualifying at the rear of the field before scraping into the top 10 in Sunday’s race, evidently displaying the struggles that the outfit is currently experiencing.
Expressing his disappointment in the showing, the number 25 isn’t overly optimistic heading to the next stop in Thailand, stating his feeling wasn’t great at the venue in a test earlier this year.
“I’m disappointed about how things are going,” said Viñales. “I’ll just go home, try to relax, and start thinking about the next race. The rhythm wasn’t there, though we had it in FP4 – on the same tyres we were doing 1m48s, but in the race it wasn’t possible. I didn’t feel great at the Buriram track in pre-season testing, but I’ll try my best, as always, and take the maximum result.”
Viñales sits fifth in the championship standings as the Thai grand prix approaches on 7 October, set to take place at Chang International Circuit.
