The final round of the 2018 Australian Superbike Championship (ASBK) has been run and won, with BC Performance Kawasaki Racing Team ZX10-R rider Bryan Staring battling for a race win to finish the season. Staring qualified third with a 1:32.398 in a session that saw the fastest ever Australian Superbike time set. For teammate Kyle Buckley, a 15-12 finish for 15th overall proved to be a tougher weekend on track, leaving Buckley 12th and Staring sixth in the final championship standings. ZX6-R mounted Giuseppe Scarcella raced to 9-7 result for seventh overall in the supersport category.

Bryan Staring: “We had a small component fail in race one, pushing me to the back of the field, which was really disappointing. I felt really good all weekend, putting in quick lap times and the result of the second race is closer to what I expect from myself, battling with Josh, Bayliss and Maxwell for the lead and ultimately the win. The Dunlops really come into their own in the warmer conditions, and I think my results this year show that. I can’t thank the BC Performance team and Dunlop enough for their support this season. Although it’s not the result I aim for, I’m proud that my reputation is strong enough for a brand like Dunlop to trust their high-level testing program with me.”
