Talented Australian set for premier class graduation next year.
Ben Currie has signed a deal with Bournemouth Kawasaki that will see him graduate to the premier class in the 2019 Bennetts British Superbike Championship (BSB).
Currie, who just completed his most successful season in the BSB Supersport category with seven victories to his name, will join the team that took out the 2018 title with WorldSBK bound Leon Haslam.
“I am absolutely ecstatic to be starting my new superbike journey with Bournemouth Kawasaki this year and to be continuing as a part of the Team Green program,” said former Gearlink Kawasaki rider Currie. “Next year is going to be a learning curve, but I have worked so hard to be successful and get to this point, so I am determined to make my mark!
“I can’t thank Pete Extance and everyone at Kawasaki enough for this opportunity. I have been counting down the days until I can swing a leg over the Bournemouth Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10RR for the first time and show everybody what we can achieve.”
The Australian talent contested the Superpsort division in 2017 and 2018, finishing third and second respectively in the championship standings. Currie is anticipated to commence testing aboard the Ninja ZX-10RR in Spain next month.
