It’s been revealed Australian Superbikes and Supersport 300 classes will feature as support categories at Phillip Island for this year’s Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix on 25-17 October.

Both the Australian Superbikes and Supersport 300 categories give local riders the opportunity to race in front of the large crowd that attends the grand prix annually.

“The Australian Superbikes and Supersport 300 are always such great additions to our event, complementing the international on-track activity of MotoGP, Moto2 and Moto3 categories,” said Craig Fletcher, AGPC general manager of motorsport, entertainment and industry.

“These national categories offer a great opportunity to showcase great Australian motorsport talent, and we’re confident this year’s line-up will make for exciting racing.”

DesmoSport Ducati’s Troy Bayliss captured victory in the Australian Superbikes support category in 2018, while his son, Oli, earned top honours in Supersport 300.
