Staring sixth in championship quest

Ficeda Accessories press release:

The 2019 Australian Superbike Championship (ASBK) resumed at the iconic Phillip Island Grand Prix circuit over the weekend where the BCperformance Kawasaki Racing Team once more took to the track using the Dunlop KR108 MS-1 rear. Lead rider Bryan Staring leaves the weekend sitting sixth in the championship, 29.5 points off the lead with a single round remaining.

BCperformance Kawasaki Racing Team, Kelvin Riley: “It clearly wasn’t an ideal weekend for us with Kyle (Buckley) unable to race due to a crash in practice aggravating the injuries he sustained at Winton, and both Ben (Bourke) and Bryan (Staring) crashing in their second races. The reality is that we suffered in outright speed, mainly due to being unable to test at the track prior. It really set us back when conditions weren’t ideal over the weekend. Bryan was consistent on-track, but really only got one solid dry and one wet session in. The MS-1 (KR108 MS1) rear continues to give us consistently strong grip over an extended period, and it’s a shame that we couldn’t show just how good it is this weekend.”

Dunlop Motorsport Manager, Robbie Bugden: “With only 17 dry laps prior to qualifying, it was a difficult weekend for the BCperformance team. However, for us, the KR108 MS-1 rear tyre is proving to be a great match with the KR109 MS-3 front. Both tyres continue to show incredible levels of consistent grip, lap after lap, even with riders of the calibre of Bryan Staring pushing them to their limits.”

The final round of ASBK on November 1-3 is set to be an epic battle, not only for the win, but for all five top placings. The Dunlop technical team will once again be on hand, offering technical advice and tyre fitting to competitors.
