The Yamaha Racing Team again made the most of a racing weekend and sent Aiden Wagner with the YRT rig out to Morgan Park in Warwick to contest the Southern Downs Road Racing Championships.
While not a state championship round, the weekend gave Wagner more valuable track time in racing conditions and allowed the team to fine tune the Yamaha YZF- R1M to his liking.

And the proof was in the lap times as Wagner was faster in racing conditions this weekend than he was just two weeks ago at the same venue with stiffer competition. The weekend saw Wagner consistently in the 1.13minute bracket and in a league of his own compared to the rest of the Superbike class.

Wagner won all four races over the weekend in a confidence boosting hit out for him and the racing continuity has been good for both rider and team.

“Its been great that we have been able to get out to Morgan Park and get some racing done this year, Wagner comments. “For me its been important to not only get the track time so I can get back to full speed, but also some consistency in racing as it had been a long time between ASBK rounds this year due to COVID.

“Thank you to John, Kev and everyone at the Yamaha Racing Team for putting in the effort to get me on the track. It is greatly appreciated and shows how passionate they are about racing even in a year as challenging as this,” Wagner ends.
