CFMOTO Racing PruestelGP has confirmed Joel Kelso in its 2023 Moto3 World Championship assault, with the Australian switching from CIP Green Power for next year.

Kelso, 19, is currently competing in his maiden world championship campaign, with a best result of the season to date P9 at Portimao.

He will remain on similar machinery next year as CFMOTO – a Chinese motorcycle and quad manufacturer – is effectively a rebadged KTM in Moto3, joining Spaniard Xavi Artigas in the squad’s line-up.

“First of all, I’m really excited about this new project for next year, being a part of the team and racing for CFMOTO Racing PruestelGP,” Kelso shared.

“Honestly, the goal is to be in the front in most of the races and I think it’s a doable task for me. Especially since the team is very strong, experienced and competitive. I want to show my speed, so I’m grateful to have the opportunity at CFMOTO to fight for podiums!”

Kelso is 22nd in the 2022 Moto3 World Championship following multiple rounds missed due to injury. The next round of the series commences this Friday at Aragon, Spain.
