Ten Kate Racing Yamaha’s Dominique Aegerter secured his second consecutive Supersport World Championship (WorldSSP) following race one at Mandalika.

Aegerter finished this afternoon’s WorldSSP encounter in P4, which was enough to wrap up the title with second-placed Lorenzo Baldassarri (Evan Bros WorldSSP Team) crashing out of contention with 17 laps remaining.

It was Niki Tuuli (MV Agusta Reparto Corse), however, who took the chequered flag first, 3.528s clear of Ducati-mounted Federico Caricasulo (Althea Racing), as Can Oncu (Kawasaki Puccetti Racing) completed the top three and Australia’s Oli Bayliss (Barni Spark Racing Team) finished P14.

In WorldSBK, Razgatlioglu (Pata Yamaha with Brixx) qualified over a second clear of the field and converted that to take a 4.324s victory.

Title-leader Alvaro Bautista (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati) was runner-up, with Jonathan Rea (Kawasaki Racing Team) third and 11.885s from the lead.

P4 was Andrea Locatelli (Pata Yamaha with Brixx) as Michael Rinaldi (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati) rounded out the top five. Notably, Iker Lecuona (Team HRC) did not complete in the race after being declared unfit following a sizeable practice crash.

Looking at the WorldSBK standings, Bautista holds an 82-point advantage in front of Razgatlioglu ahead of tomorrow’s superpole race and race two.
