Australia’s Luke Power will make the step to the Supersport World Championship (WorldSSP) next year, inking a deal to compete with the Motozoo Racing by Puccetti team through the 2023 season.

Power, 17, embarked on a stint in the US this year to compete in the MotoAmerica Supersport Championship with Suzuki-equipped outfit 3D Motorsports, scoring two podiums in his rookie campaign on his way to P5 in the standings.

For 2023, the number 68 will return to Kawasaki Supersport machinery having raced on a ZX-6R in the Australian Supersport Championship last year, relishing the opportunity to compete in ‘green’ against the world’s best.

“I am really happy to be racing in the World Supersport Championship 2023 with Motozoo Racing by Puccetti,” Power explained. “I would like to thank the team for this great opportunity.

“It will be truly incredible to be racing for Kawasaki, one of my favourite manufacturers since I was a kid and dreamed of starting racing in the World Championship. I’m so happy to have this chance and I thank Motozoo Racing, I’m sure we’ll achieve great results together!”

The 2022 Supersport World Championship is set to span across 12 rounds, with the season-opener to take place at Phillip Island on 24-26 February.
