With the threat of rain looming at The Bend, Troy Herfoss was the fastest rider in this morning’s timed practice as the top nine from the session transfer directly through to qualifying two.

A 1m51.247s from the Penrite Honda Racing rider saw him 0.277s clear of championship leader Mike Jones (Yamaha Racing Team) in P2, as South Australian Arthur Sissis (Unitech Racing Yamaha) completed the top three.

Boost Mobile Ducati with K-Tech’s Josh Waters was fifth fastest, as an impressive step forward from 727 Moto team’s Billy McConnell saw the international guest rider notch a 1m51.647s to slot into P6.

Friday’s pace-setter Cru Halliday was seventh, with Glenn Allerton (Next Gen Motorsports BMW) and Jack Miller (Thriller Motorsport) securing the final places straight into Q2.

Bryan Staring (DesmoSport Ducati) was P13, with a crucial qualifying one session approaching for the second-placed rider in the standings, needing to ensure he is in the top three to advance through to Q2.

Notably, the injured Josh Hook (Thriller Motorsport)  did one lap and pulled immediately back into the pits, seen icing what is expected to be a broken scaphoid sustained in a heavy FP2 fall yesterday.
