Former Australian Supersport champion Ted Collins will compete onboard an M 1000 RR with Livson Racing in 2023, set to return to the Mi-Bike Australian Superbike Championship for the upcoming season.

Earlier this month Collins completed a shakedown with the outfit during round four of the St George Summer Night Series at Sydney Motorsport Park, landing fifth overall with a mix of international and domestic talent in attendance.

After some time away from national competition, the 2017 Australian Supersport champion returned for a cameo appearance at round six of ASBK last year, riding a Yamaha R1 in his own privateer effort at Phillip Island. The forthcoming 2023 campaign is set to mark his first complete season at national level since 2018.

“I couldn’t be happier to join Livson Racing for the 2023 season, I’m excited to start the championship and put my best foot forward,” Collins said. “All team members at Livson Racing have a real can-do winning attitude, and most importantly, they believe in my ability to win and be a strong front-runner in the championship and these values are imperative to a successful season ”

Collins is no stranger to BMW machinery, competing in the premier class with NextGen Motorsports for the complete 2018 season, and also rounds in 2019. Notably, he finished his rookie campaign with the brand a strong P4 in race two and Phillip Island, five years ago.

The 2023 Mi-Bike Australian Superbike Championship calendar officially commences next week with the pre-season test at SMSP on 1-2 February. Round one commences later in the month at Phillip Island, alongside the opening round of the Superbike World Championship from the 24th through to the 26th.
